This Privacy Policy describes how Poonel ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with Poonel - EasySmartPDF, the Poonel Job Application Assistant Chrome extension, and the Poonel.app website, Poonel accounts, and related services. These products have different data practices, as described below.
EasySmartPDF performs its document-processing features locally on your Android device. Documents used for PDF conversion, merging, splitting, and similar operations are not uploaded to Poonel servers for processing. Poonel does not sell EasySmartPDF user data.
The Poonel Job Application Assistant Chrome extension helps you capture job information, fill job application forms, manage resume and profile information, analyze resume-to-job fit, suggest resume tailoring, and track job applications. The extension is local-first.
Information that may be stored locally in Chrome extension storage includes:
Local-first storage does not mean that all information always stays local. Optional AI features can send relevant information to an AI provider when you invoke them.
When necessary for a feature you request, the extension may access supported job and application pages, including job descriptions, page text, URLs, and application form fields. This access is used for job extraction, application form assistance or autofill, resume-to-job analysis, and resume tailoring.
The extension does not collect your general browsing history and does not perform general browsing surveillance.
AI features are optional and initiated by you. The extension supports the following AI modes:
You provide your own Gemini API key. When you invoke an AI feature, relevant job and resume context is sent directly from the extension to Google Gemini.
You provide your own OpenAI API key. When you invoke an AI feature, relevant job and resume context is sent directly from the extension to OpenAI.
Poonel AI does not require you to provide an API key. When you invoke it, relevant job and resume context is sent to the Poonel backend, which uses OpenAI as a server-side AI provider to process the request.
Poonel does not intentionally persist prompt bodies, resume content, job-description content, or AI response bodies as permanent content records. We may retain operational metadata such as feature type, timestamps, prompt or request size, token usage, cost information, rate-limit or security information, and errors. This metadata may be used for service operation, security, abuse prevention, reliability, and credit accounting.
Processing by Google, OpenAI, or another third-party AI provider is also subject to that provider's privacy practices. Poonel does not sell user information or use AI content to build advertising profiles.
Some features, including Poonel AI, can require a Poonel account. Poonel supports Google authentication. We may receive and store basic account information such as your name, email address, profile image, and account or user identifier.
We may also maintain authentication information needed to operate your account, your AI credit balance, credit transaction records, and other account or service metadata needed to provide the service. Poonel does not receive or store your Google password.
When you sign in, the Chrome extension may store an opaque Poonel access token and basic account information locally in Chrome storage to maintain your signed-in state. This Poonel access token is not a Google OAuth token.
Poonel does not sell personal information. We may transmit information to service providers only as necessary to provide functionality you request, such as authentication, hosting, and AI processing. Poonel does not use or transfer user data for creditworthiness or lending purposes.
The Job Application Assistant does not collect general browsing history and does not perform keystroke logging, mouse-movement tracking, or behavioral surveillance. Operational server logs may exist for security, reliability, rate limiting, abuse prevention, credit accounting, and service operation.
We use reasonable technical measures to protect information. Local extension data remains in your browser unless you invoke a feature that requires communication with an external service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Poonel does not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
We may update this Privacy Policy when our products or data practices change. We will update the Last updated date at the top of this page when we do.
